Connecticut cyclosporiasis cases now up to 56

HARTFORD, Conn. — The number of Connecticut cases of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness caused by a parasite, is now up to 56 this year, according to the state Department of Public Health.

The 56 cases as of Monday increased from 35 last week, and the 26 cases reported this time last year, health officials said.
